HPL is made of a resin plastic surface that makes the tabletop very easy to clean and resistant to dirt. Moderate cleaning with soap and water is common. However, it can be scratched if used with a cleaner or a rough brush.
Although laminate is a quality product, but they can not compete with other tabletop materials. This is because it has a shorter lifespan than other materials, as well as being susceptible to extreme burns, cracking, or corrosive effects.
Among the disadvantages of HPL include:
- Not waterproof, not suitable for use in wet kitchens
- Susceptible to the effects of burns and pollution
- The surface is easily scratched and peeled; damage is almost impossible to repair, needs to be replaced with a new tabletop if damaged
